The Amazing Kim
I HEART HK
I love Hong Kong. Â I’ve been 3 times now and when I was there a few weeks ago I took some street pix.
I really wanted to photograph interesting places and characters, and to shoot them fast. Â So.. Â I gave myself a few seconds for each shot.
It was so much fun.
Under New Management…
A very exciting day indeed, the ever vigilant Helen and sprightly Grant down at Freeway Reps are my new management team.
CATFISH
Yesterday afternoon I watched an amazing film CATFISH. Â I have always been interested in social masks, the idea of an avatar and redesigning your own identity – this films has it all. Â I watched with great friends and we were all so keen to talk about what we had just seen once the credits started to roll. Â The film is a triumph; Humour, Anxiety and a healthy dose of Voyuerism all rolled into one.
Very Sharp!
Its almost Christmas time and that means my favourite band THE KNIFE are getting ready to do their annual festive release of their jingle belled version of my favourite song REINDEER. Â Time to put it on my Chrissy wish list.
….. Â ”And Santa he is faster.”
Summer Lovin’
After a very busy year I am so so so looking forward to Christmas with my family and some quiet nights watching the sunset over the ocean. Â Love this time of year.
L.A. Calling
Just found out that my work is being viewed by a major LA film studio for a photography gig in LA. Â There is always the chance that it may just fizzle into nothing, but still amazing that the opportunity is there. Â The next few years are going to be an incredible time for growth I think. I will keep you posted.
Finding the Time
After spending many hours collecting ideas and drawing silly diagrams – it came to me. Â I am finally ready to write films again, its been a while since I wrote and shot a short film. Â The film (I have decided) will be about time travel. Â I love the Back to the Future films and remember the day I saw Part 1. Â To Be Continued…
Imagination
Such a good Ad for LEGO – the power of imagination and the endless fun to be had with the iconic bits of plastic.
To be Paid
I am always amazed at the things floating around on the interweb. For the Star Wars fans out there, this ’70s style invoice created by Brock Davis (Wired Magazine) is clever and funny.
My the Invoice be with You.
Mirror, Mirror – Black Swan Trailer
Darren Aronofsky has become one of my fave film makers. Â I am so excited about this film – I wannit now!
Impressive. Most Impressive.
Can’t wait!!!
“Out this month, the slick coffee-table tome The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back chronicles the complete tale—from pre-release to blockbuster success—of what’s become the fan favorite of the Star Wars series. Released in 1980, George Lucas’s Episode V pushed the boundaries of special effects and left audiences with one of cinema’s most epic cliffhangers. To mark the film’s 30th anniversary, VF.com presents an excerpt from the book: rarely seen photographs from the Empire Strikes Back set, annotated with behind-the-scenes details. Plus: Read Mike Ryan’s interviews with the book’s author, J.W. Rinzler, and the man behind Boba Fett’s mask, actor Jeremy Bulloch.”
Dinner and a movie
Friday Night, what a good night it was. Â ”The Social Network” followed by Bondi Pizza overlooking the city.
Time to Test the Twitter
“Its Blog, it’s Blog.  It’s big, it’s heavy, it’s wood. It’s Blog, it’s Blog, it’s better than bad, it’s good.”
Early one morning…
I was looking out of my cheap and cheerful hotel, and this guy appeared on the roof of the Hong Kong Space Museum. Â After a few minutes he began doing Kung Fu – incredible moment.
